Cast Member

City Year seeks Ameri Corps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily in-class support to teachers and students in core academic subjects
• Tutor students one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce learning goals
• Support students' social-emotional development and positive behavior
• Monitor attendance and engage students to improve school participation
• Assist with planning and leading after-school or enrichment programs
• Build relationships with students, teachers, and school staff to support student success
• Communicate with families and caregivers as appropriate in coordination with school staff
• Collect and track student data to monitor progress and inform support strategies
• Participate in City Year and school trainings, meetings, and professional development
• Model City Year values and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative team culture
