What You’ll DoSite Classification Leadership- Review, certify, and sign off Lot/Site Classification reports in accordance with NSW and QLD standards (AS1726, AS2870, AS2159, relevant Australian Standards).
- Maintain a strong focus on technical accuracy, risk management, and constructability.
- Lead bulk earthworks investigations and designs from brief to final report.
- Run Plaxis 2D/3D analyses for embankments, slopes, retaining structures, and more.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, slope stability assessments, and earthworks specifications.
- Interpret geotechnical reports, bore logs, and lab data to inform design decisions.
- Apply sound engineering judgement to real construction conditions.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide hands‑on technical support to Site Investigators and junior engineers.
- Mentor team members in fieldwork, soil and rock logging, and report preparation.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Actively contribute feedback to improve systems, processes, and service delivery.
- Conduct and oversee field investigations, inspections, and earthworks testing.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients across diverse projects.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and technical presentations.
- Provide technical guidance during construction and earthworks activities.
- Annual training budget and dedicated accreditation support.
- A clear pathway toward Principal or Technical Lead roles as the business grows.

- Identify opportunities to introduce new geotechnical and testing services.
- Support accreditation pathways and capability expansion aligned with business growth.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in investigation methods, reporting templates, and QA systems.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in geotechnical engineering.
- 4–8 years’ geotechnical engineering experience.
- Hands‑on bulk earthworks design/reporting background.
- Solid Plaxis 2D/3D modelling skills.
- Strong Geotester reporting experience.
- NER and RPEQ registered.
- Geotechnical Report writing including recommendations and problem solving.
- Willing to cross‑train with Screw Pier foundation design.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Someone who takes ownership and doesn’t wait to be told twice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- NER registration and RPEQ.
- CPEng accreditation highly regarded.
- Exceptional technical report writing and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability, with a practical engineering mindset.
- Experience managing multiple projects while maintaining high technical standards.
- Confidence working autonomously and making sound engineering judgments.
- Experience with software such as PLAXIS, AutoCAD, CIRCLY, etc.
