Application Technical Specialist I

Location:
Smithfield, RI.

Duration: 6 Months

Pay Rate: $17/hr.

Shift: Mon-Fri 8-hour shift that could fluctuate to accommodate day/night projects and different time zone.

Position Summary

This is a temporary contractor role supporting a technology rollout call center environment. The position involves handling inbound and outbound calls from field technicians, vendors, and contractors implementing hardware and technology upgrades, providing first-level troubleshooting support, updating tracking systems, and assisting with multiple concurrent rollout projects while following established implementation protocols.

Duties
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls from field technicians, vendors, and contractors supporting technology and hardware rollouts.
  • Provide first-level technical troubleshooting and guidance during store technology implementations and upgrades.
  • Support multiple rollout projects simultaneously while adhering to project timelines and protocols.
  • Update tracking tools and validate system information during and after call handling.
  • Communicate project updates and resolutions via email and Excel when not on active calls.
  • Follow the provided training materials, handbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Adjust work schedules as needed to support evening, night, or multi–time zone project deployments.
Required experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a call center, technical support, help desk, or similar environment.
  • Experience handling inbound and outbound calls in a fast-paced support setting.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving experience related to technology or hardware issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for documentation and communication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with technicians and vendors.
