Job Purpose and FunctionIn this key role the Sales Manager manages the day-to-day activities of the HPNE Sales team. The Sales Manager is responsible for overall customer satisfaction and retention, oversees sales planning and goal setting, and coordinates with the marketing department on lead generation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Provides leadership to the sales team, plans and directs hiring and training of new sales representatives.
- Directs and coordinates all sales activities.
- Consults with potential customers to understand their needs and suggests products or services that meet those needs.
- Prepares sales budgets and projections, and approves expenditures.
- Tracks and analyzes sales statistics based on key metrics.
- Handles and resolves customer complaints regarding a product or service.
- Acts as company representative at trade association meetings.
- Advises distributors and dealers on policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
All personnel shall have sufficient education, training, and experience to perform required activities. Training must be documented.
RequiredSkills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelor’s degree in a science (Biology, Biochemistry or Chemistry) or engineering area preferred.
- Seven or more years of sales experience required.
- Five or more years of sales leadership experience required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Travel to client sites – day and overnight travel.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
