Job title and schedule:

Manufacturing Team Member I / Machine Operator - Laser

Work Schedule: M-F 6:30am to 3:00pm

SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for loading and unloading parts for laser processing, operating and maintaining various laser machines, ensuring compliance with quality management system (QMS) and ISO standards, performing basic office tasks, conducting quality inspections, as well as assisting with shipping/receiving and general shop operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load and unload parts on/off fixtures to support automation cell.
  • Operate and monitor laser machines to ensure accurate and efficient functioning.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of part fixtures to ensure optimal performance.
  • Learn and adapt to different laser machines and their specific requirements.
  • Adhere to quality management systems (QMS) and ISO standards to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Conduct quality inspections of laser-processed parts to verify conformance with specifications.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for shop operations.
  • Handle basic office tasks such as project technical data entry, documentation, and maintaining records.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and optimize production efficiency.
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist in creation of fixtures in a CNC machine, loading and unloading material as needed.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • None

ESSENTIAL

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or 2-year experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Relevant technical certifications or vocational training is a plus.
  • Experience operating laser machines and leading laser programs a plus.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and ISO standards.
  • Experience working with computers including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform basic measurements.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Salary: $16.26-$27.10
