Hybrid two weeks onsite a month in Smithfield, RI
Our client seeks a Full Stack Engineer to support the Defined Contribution platform within Workplace Investing. The role will design, build, and maintain Java and Angular services for plan configuration, modernization, and technical lifecycle management. The engineer will contribute to code reviews, documentation, release support, and rotational on-call coverage while collaborating across web, application, and database layers.
Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features for a high-volume Defined Contribution platform using Java, Spring, Angular, and Oracle.
- Implement RESTful services, web interfaces, and database interactions across multi-tier environments.
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews and publish clear technical documentation.
- Support production releases and provide rotational on-call production support.
- Execute platform modernization efforts and component lifecycle upgrades with attention to security and risk.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver enhancements for plan configuration and onboarding.
- Write unit tests and partner with quality engineering for validation.
- Use source control and CI practices to ensure reliable deployments.
- 3+ years of software development experience on business-critical, enterprise applications.
- Proficiency in Java with Spring or Spring Boot, including RESTful API development.
- Experience with server-side Java technologies such as J2EE, REST, SQL, JUnit, and Tomcat.
- Experience with client-side technologies including HTML5, Angular, JavaScript, CSS, and JSON.
- Background in designing and operating high-volume transactional systems.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
- Ability to create technical artifacts from business and systems requirements.
- Ability to learn new concepts and technologies and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication with solid organizational skills.
- Unit test experience and openness to testing practices.
- Energetic approach to work (preferred).
- Willingness to upskill in new technologies (preferred).
- Experience with AI tools or AI-related development (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technology field.
