Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 7:30 am‑3:30 pm
Responsible for the set‑up of moderately complex jobs and operation of CNC equipment, ensuring all processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and ISO standards. Will assist in the training of personnel as required and may operate a CMM.
Duties and Responsibilities- Set‑up moderately complex jobs and operate conventional, special‑purpose, and CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. Assemble machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, materials, and layout techniques. Able to run multiple machines at one time.
- Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and set‑up requirements.
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and tooling pre‑setter.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit machine control media; observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance machining and adjust controls or media as required.
- Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of settings against programmed control data.

- Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- Fit and assemble parts into complete assemblies using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, hand tools, and power tools.
- Verify dimensions and alignment of assemblies using measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
- Specialize in setting up and operating machines in a particular machining area (e.g., Swiss lath, chucker lath, grinders, mills, wire EDMs).
- Assist in the training of personnel, as required.
- Confere with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
- Complete essential documentation as required.
- Ensure all policies, procedures, and safety precautions are followed to reduce risk of injury.
- Maintain a clean work area and assure safe operation of all equipment.
- Be available on reasonable notice for unscheduled overtime to meet production schedules.
- Perform and document operator preventive maintenance operations as needed.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineer.
- Assist production in all areas.
- Assist with tooling/fixturing build.
- Occasionally perform miscellaneous non‑recurring duties such as packing, shipping, unpacking, sorting, inspection, cleaning, finishing, deburring.
- High School diploma or GED;
Vocational/Technical education preferred.
- 3‑6 years of relevant experience.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Prioritization of multiple tasks.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of GD&T.
- Complete knowledge of G‑Codes.
- Team player.
