Job SummaryResponsible for supporting the manufacture of surgical instruments, translating customer requirements into effective inspection criteria to be deployed by machine operators for quality assurance, and delivering zero defects to the next process and customer.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and implement inspection/validation techniques to verify products meet requirements early in production.
- Specify need for new inspection equipment and instruct others in its proper use.
- Obtain technical counsel from Quality Engineer to understand and interpret customer requirements accurately.
- Provide technical leadership to support Quality Inspectors.
- Audit and continuously improve operator quality toward zero defects.
- Develop and assist in corrective action responses for internal and external customers.
- Implement, monitor, and track progress of First Article Samples.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineer to ensure PVE type deliverables meet customer requirements.
- Provide new hire and ongoing training to elevate cell quality technicians’ knowledge and skills.
- Perform inspection duties as required.
- Interface with customers and suppliers professionally as required.
- Support quality improvement and cost‑saving initiatives as needed.
- Supervise employees, where appropriate.
- Meet visual acuity requirements (color shades and color blindness).
- Pass vision screening test (eye chart).
- Assist in receiving inspections on products from outside resources.
- Assist Quality Engineer with other assigned tasks.
- Lead or assist in multi‑function continuous improvement activities – e.g., Gage R&R studies, statistical training, process control/validations.
- Train others in similar roles after demonstrating competency.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3–6 years of quality experience.
- 3–5 years’ experience in quality with CMM, optical measuring equipment, and metrology in machining applications.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T principles.
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred; CQT strongly preferred; CQI a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, scheduling, leadership, and technical quality skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to cultivate cooperation from others.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and actively participate in a team‑oriented manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using test equipment such as CMM, optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, and pin gages.

Hourly
Salary: $45,000 – $65,000 per year
