Lee’s Marketplace Bakery Clerks are charged with assisting in any way possible in the total operation of the Bakery Department. Responsibilities include packaging, labeling, displaying, and verifying the quality of baked goods, engaging guests in person, over the phone, or through digital tools. Clerks work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of personal, exemplary customer service.

• Help with the production, development, preparation, and maintenance of bakery items in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
• Assist in displaying and restocking bakery products; ensure shelves and cases are filled, fresh, rotated, faced, and cleaned.
• Maintain accurate food inventories.
• Learn about and educate customers on Lee’s Bakery products and services.
• Maintain training and certification through in-person and digital training platforms.
• Process orders through digital and in‑person systems.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Greet and assist guests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Provide knowledgeable answers to guest inquiries.
• Promote a high level of morale and open communication with guests and team members.
• Prepare and process guest orders promptly and accurately.
• Apply problem‑solving skills and prioritize the best resolution for guests.
• Assist customers with use of Lee’s Marketplace website.

• Stock shelves and maintain displays per store standards.
• Ensure product freshness by monitoring quality, rotating stock, and checking expiration dates.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and organizing stock rooms.
• Package and label products using computer programs.
• Support proper freshness, pricing, code dating, tare, and merchandising per company policies.

• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
• Report safety hazards or equipment issues to management.
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Participate in cleaning responsibilities as directed by management.

• Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately.
• Follow store policies on returns, exchanges, and refunds.
• Ensure the security of cash and other financial transactions.

• Work cooperatively with team members to achieve store goals.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Manage tasks in a fast‑paced, sometimes crowded, sales environment with tact and patience.
• Help ensure products are sold well before expiration.
• Attend departmental, store, and company meetings to support profits and revenue goals.
