About the Program:The Children's Center Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded program that provides no‑cost services to qualifying families who reside in the community. Comprehensive services are provided to pregnant women and their partners and children from birth to 5. Child development, health and family services are provided through a variety of program options designed to meet the needs of low‑income and at‑risk families.
Aboutthe Job:
The Children’s Center is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our teaching team! Our preschool program builds the solid academic foundation students need for future success. In our school, classes are led by a dedicated, caring team of teachers who value open communication with parents. Our preschool offers the perfect balance of learning and play, combining structured learning experiences with play activities designed for each developmental stage.
Responsibilities:- Implement our research‑based Creative Curriculum that promotes discovery and exploration as a way of learning.
- Enjoy leading structured activities both in the classroom and on the playground.
- Ensure all Virginia Licensing and Head Start/Early Head Start regulations are followed to ensure child safety and to maintain a high quality classroom.
- Communicate directly with parents to build healthy partnerships that promote the child’s success and healthy development.
- Stay dedicated to our mission in order to build an educational foundation for each child to grow cognitively, emotionally, and physically each day.
- Have 1–3 years of experience leading a classroom and have strong classroom management skills.
- Have CPR/First Aid training.
- Flexibility with work hours and scheduling.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Have familiarity in Virginia Licensing regulations.
- Early Childhood Education Infant/Toddler Certificate or higher.
- 1–3 years of experience in an early childhood setting is preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 14 paid holidays.
