Job DescriptionOur client, a large global manufacturing company, is looking for an experienced Interim Senior Accountant in their corporate accounting group. This position will involve activity around month-end close, costing, analysis, and inventory. Ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various levels of employees and management.
This position is a contract/consulting role, expected duration 3-4 months.
- Support month-end close and all general ledger accounting and reporting for multiple entities.
- Assist with accounting integration activities for acquisitions and system implementations, including financial data conversion, process documentation, and workflow standardization.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX 404, and internal accounting policies and controls.
- Prepare and post journal entries, perform financial analysis, maintain supporting documentation, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Complete account reconciliations and prepare necessary adjusting entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Support monthly SG&A reporting, including variance analysis, flux commentary, and communication of results to senior management.
- Assist with annual SG&A budgeting and forecasting activities for assigned departments.
- Analyze P&L variances against budget and prior periods, providing detailed explanations and collaborating cross-functionally to gather business insights.
- Assisting with internal and external audits, the yearly preparation of budget and quarterly updates and providing any other reports requested by the corporate office.
- Prepare annual budget and monthly reporting & analysis.
- Analyze ROI, profitability and pricing for business unit segments and products.
- B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance or related.
- 5-10 years of accounting or financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
