** The Human Resources team is searching for an ambitious individual to join our mission to discover, hire, and retain great talent. This person will be a conduit for positive employee relations, onboarding / offboarding, and focal point for employee support . You will be instrumental in achieving Smithfield’s goal to become the #1 consumer packaged goods company in the world!

This role supports business units on our corporate campus of Smithfield, VA. This includes employment and personnel documentation, job evaluation, compensation, and benefits. This position performs duties requiring independent judgment and coordination in one or more areas of a comprehensive human resource operation.
** Responsibilities
* ** Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
* Maintains the Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
* Collects and analyzes HR data and makes recommendations to the HR Business Partner
* Supports the functional areas of human resources including, but not limited to, personnel records, employee relations, benefits administration, training, employee relations, safety, ADA administration, and special projects.
* Assists with the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures through email communications, and/or meetings.

* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field and 2+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
* Working knowledge of employment law practices.
* Experience with Workday preferred.
* Strong communication skills, written and verbal
* Experience in administration of benefits, compensation, and other programs.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
* Ability to work well with various levels of leadership across the organization.
* Ability to cross-train within the corporate HR team.
* Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
* Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

The expected pay range for this position is $55,000 - $82,500 annually.
* Smithfield Foods provides pay ranges that reflect its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the company reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of hire. Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, location of the position, the candidate’s qualifications and experience, internal equity, external market pay…
