Smithfield Hospital CRNA Opportunity

Smithfield Hospital is opening its state-of-the-art facility in January 2026, providing high-quality health care for families across Isle of Wright County and surrounding communities. Hospital services will include a 24/7 emergency department, inpatient medical and surgical care, an ICU, imaging, lab services, and more.

Position Overview – 12-week contract

Case Mix: GI/Urology/General/Orthopedics/Minor Vascular

No peds, no neuro, no ENT, no gyn

45 days, 8-hour shifts

$250/week car stipend

$110/day lodging stipend

No on-call

OT is not expected, but offered

# of OR rooms: 2

Staffing model: 2:1

EMR system: EPIC

CRNA Responsibilities (listed are included but not limited to):

• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

CRNA Requirements:

• Graduated from an accredited program in nurse anesthesia education.
• Certified by the National Board of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• Licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and possess a current, valid, unrestricted license in the state of Virginia.
• At least one full year (12 months) of experience as a CRNA.
• Possess BLS and ACLS certification.
