American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a brand-new community hospital, requiring a VA or compact RN license and Epic experience.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a newly opened community hospital featuring 14 beds, a trauma room, and 3 vertical care spaces
- General ED setting treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- 4:1 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Uses Epic EMR
- Floating may be requested based on facility needs
- Accepts local candidates at the same rate
- Active RN license required, VA license or compact license in hand
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIHSS certification required
- CPI certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Specialty experience within the last year required
- Epic charting experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Prior travel experience required
- Skilled in trauma care including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and multisystem organ dysfunction management
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation
- Experienced in pediatric emergency care including asthma, epiglottitis, and near drowning
- Experienced in psychiatric emergency care including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, and managing violent behavior
- Skilled in respiratory interventions including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, and ABG interpretation
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experienced in administration of emergency medications, vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Skilled in neurological emergency care including CVA, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
- Experienced in orthopedic trauma care including splinting
- Knowledgeable in isolation precautions, PPE, and triage protocols
- Provide comprehensive emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Support trauma response and treatment for high-acuity emergency cases
- Prior permanent employees must have separated from employment for at least 6 months before being eligible for a travel assignment
- RTO requests should be kept to a minimum, with no more than 7 days total during the assignment and no additional requests approved after an offer is extended
