Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure that all team members and contractors demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with OSHA, NFPA, state and local codes, and AES Solar O&M safety policies and procedures during the performance of facilities management activities.
- Conduct vegetation maintenance and abatement on solar power generation plants, including mowing, trimming, brush clearing, and weed control.
- Safely operate riding mowers, tractors, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, rotary cutters, and other tools and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Ensure that assigned vehicle, tooling, electrical devices, software, and company property are maintained.
- Assist with interdepartmental maintenance activities as needed.
- Maintain and repair gravel roads and access paths, including grading and filling.
- Repair and maintain fencing, gates, and site perimeter areas.
- Perform snow plowing and winter storm response as needed.
- Assist with loading, hauling, and positioning large trailers.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a clear understanding of safe workplace practices.
CDL not required, but preferred. - Must be able to take direction, work independently with minimal oversight, and communicate effectively and respectfully with peers, supervisor, and all other individuals both within and outside of the organization.
- Must be able to travel between sites, work oncall during offshift hours, and work occasional weekends.
- Must be able to operate in a manner consistent with organizational policies, procedures, and vision.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards, procedures and use required PPE (provided by AES), including hard hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
- Must have the ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short distances for 8-10 hours a day. Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Work is primarily performed in the field with occasional time in the field office.
