School Bus Assistant

Durham School Services – 250

E. 92 HWY, Smithville, MO 64089.

Hiring Immediately – No Experience Necessary – Training Provided. Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour. Walk-in Interviews:
Monday‑Friday 9am‑1pm. Bring a friend!

Responsibilities
  • Assist students with entering or exiting the bus safely.
  • Show highest ethical best practices, report suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
  • Seat students safely using seat belts, car seats or wheelchair restraints.
  • Serve as a role model with a positive attitude, good moral character, and integrity.
  • Monitor passengers to ensure safety regulations and student conduct rules are followed.
  • Exercise student management through communication and discipline per company policy.
  • Document and report any violations or conduct concerns to the appropriate authority.
  • Assist passengers in vehicle evacuation during emergencies.
  • Ensure children collect belongings before leaving.
  • Assist driver in keeping the vehicle interior clean and presentable.
  • Complete required paperwork timely.
  • Display high ethical and professional behavior with employees, supervisors, parents, and school personnel.
  • Present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Report to duty on time and perform duties safely.
  • Attend all assigned training, safety meetings, and in‑service meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age (19 in New York per state law).
  • Meet physical and medical requirements.
  • Complete and pass all required training and continue attending safety meetings.
  • High attention to detail and dexterity to use restraints, secure wheelchairs.
  • Relate to and work well with children.
  • Maintain effective pupil behavior management.
  • High level of professionalism and diplomacy skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and assist students when necessary.
