  • A leading automotive manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Engineer for its Smithville, TN facility. This role ensures manufacturing processes and components meet quality standards and customer expectations by developing QA procedures, leading root cause analysis (CAPA), and executing continuous improvements on the production floor.
  • Review and disposition customer returns daily, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Lead root cause analysis, Strike Team meetings, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) using 8D and Fishbone tools.
  • Perform regular audits of production processes, MQC (Control Plans), Inspection Standards (IS), and FMEAs.
  • Prepare monthly internal and customer PPM reports and coordinate directly with Tier 1 OEM clients.
  • Partner with engineering and production to lead the Scrap Reduction Team and implement plant-floor Kaizen initiatives.
  • Support laboratory testing activities and assist the Lab Technician as needed.
  • Standard Full-Time (Day shift) / On-site. Requires substantial standing and walking on the production floor for investigations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree + 1+ year of experience, Associate's degree + 3+ years of experience, or Non-Degreed with 5+ years of quality engineering experience.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 OEMs and launching new vehicle models is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, SPC) and 2-D prints/GD&T symbols.
  • Experience working with gauges, gauge makers, and core quality tools (FMEA, 8D, Fishbone).
  • Strong emotional resilience to withstand pressure and handle difficult customer/production floor situations.
