Overview:

The Axel Group is seeking an Accountant for our client's team. This company is a leader in the construction industry, dedicated to delivering quality projects and financial integrity. The Accountant will play a key role in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and supporting budgeting and cost management efforts to ensure smooth financial operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare house profit analyses and review gross profit margins for each sales contract.
  • Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and posting errors on invoices, collaborating with relevant departments to resolve issues.
  • Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Post bank deposits and create cash receipt journals.
  • Process timely payments of property taxes and monthly amortizations.
  • Monitor fixed asset purchases, ensuring correct capitalization and depreciation.
  • Prepare B&O excise tax returns, obtain necessary approvals, and submit through appropriate portals.
  • Generate various weekly and monthly reports, including sales, back charge, marketing, warranty expense, and production reports.
  • Oversee due diligence reconciliation and review.
  • Review SG&A expenses and coding accuracy.
  • Verify employee expense reimbursements for correctness and proper documentation.
  • Review HOA financials and update sales tax rate sheets.
  • Reconcile real estate tax spreadsheets and track city license expirations and renewals.
  • Prepare BRWs and upload documents as required.
  • Assist vendors with questions related to financial processes.
Requirements:
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of construction industry financial practices is preferred.
  • Experience with account reconciliations, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
Compensation:

Salary up to $85,000.00 annually
