Job SummaryWe are currently seeking Substitute Teachers and Assistants for the Early Childhood Division. The ideal substitute teacher will have some classroom experience or experience working with children, hold a bachelor’s degree or a Delaware teaching license and/or an area‑specific certificate. For a substitute assistant position a bachelor’s degree is not required. State regulations require all adults working with three and four‑year‑olds to hold a DEEDS Intern or higher Early Childhood Certificate.
Responsibilities- Assume duties of the regular classroom teacher or assistant in accordance with school rules.
- Help students learn subject matter and/or skills required for scheduled lessons and provide meaningful instruction in assigned classrooms.
- Ensure the integrity of academic time and motivate students to learn and participate.
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Be reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Show excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be well‑organized and committed.
- Have some experience with technology (a plus).
