D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Land Accountant
. The right candidate will apply the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports; maintain budgets and projected costs regarding land/lot acquisitions.

- Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, dollar amount errors on invoices, etc., for land/lot acquisitions
- Review Gross Profit Margins of subdivisions
- Create land spreadsheet for payments
- Run various reports and perform budget tracking
- Prepare/update land acquisition proformas (LAPs), Forestar proformas, and the Financial Project System (FPS)
- Run a weekly funding request
- Assist vendors with any questions
- Assist with reconciling transactions and budgets pertaining to homes sold for the end of month process
- Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Ability to travel overnight
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related area of study) from a four-year college or university
- Two to five years of related experience and/or training
- Understanding and ability to adhere to General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Familiarity with land/lot contracts
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Provide attention to detail and manage multiple responsibilities
- Ability to accurately and efficiently process and record large volumes of data
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- CPA preferred
- JD Edwards experience a plus
