Land Accountant

Overview:

The Axel Group is seeking a Land Analyst for our client's team. This dynamic company specializes in residential construction and land development. The Land Analyst will apply accounting principles to analyze financial information, manage budgets, and support land acquisition projects to ensure smooth operations and financial accuracy.

• Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and invoice discrepancies related to land and lot acquisitions
• Analyze gross profit margins of subdivisions
• Create and maintain land payment spreadsheets
• Run various reports and perform budget tracking activities
• Prepare and update land acquisition proformas, including LAPs and proformas for Forestar and the Financial Project System (FPS)
• Manage weekly funding requests
• Assist vendors with questions and support transaction reconciliations
• Support month-end closing processes by reconciling transactions and budgets associated with home sales
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the land acquisition and development process

• Relevant experience in accounting, finance, or land development
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks related to budgeting, reporting, and vendor support
• Knowledge of financial analysis tools and systems used in land acquisition projects

• Salary:
  Up to $65,000 annually
