The Community Relations Coordinator creates and coordinates information across multiple platforms and partner agencies for daily and crisis communications at the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA). The role develops engaging content including media memos, press releases, social media posts, and manages media and constituent relations while maintaining DEMA brand standards. All DEMA employees are essential state personnel required to be available 24/7 during emergency activations.
KeyQualifications
- Three years of experience in public relations or media relations
- Three years of experience gathering, organizing, and formatting information for media or public dissemination
- Three years of experience in public speaking and presenting information to public or media groups
- Six months of experience developing, planning and directing public events, campaigns, or programs
- Six months of experience evaluating alternative courses of action to resolve controversial issues
- Six months of experience developing policies and procedures for information dissemination
