Property Accountant (Hybrid)
Metro Atlanta, GA | $70,000–$80,000
OpportunityOur client is seeking a Property Accountant to join a stable and collaborative team supporting a portfolio of residential properties throughout Metro Atlanta. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the full accounting cycle for assigned properties while maintaining a healthy work-life balance through a hybrid schedule. You'll gain exposure to monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and operational accounting in an environment that values accuracy, teamwork, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements for assigned properties
- Record journal entries and manage general ledger activity
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and ensure balance sheet accuracy
- Analyze financial performance and investigate variances
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Respond to financial inquiries and provide accounting support as needed
- Assist with special projects and other general accounting responsibilities
- Monthly financial statements are completed accurately and on time
- Account reconciliations are thorough, with discrepancies identified and resolved promptly
- Financial variances are clearly explained through thoughtful analysis
- Strong partnerships with internal teams contribute to efficient accounting operations
- Accounting records remain organized, accurate, and audit-ready
- 3+ years of property accounting experience (multi-family)
- Experience working with accounting and/or property management systems
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Stable, full-time position with a hybrid work model
