TAS Auto Repair is seeking an experienced A-Level / Master Automotive Technician to join its small, hands-on shop in Smyrna, Georgia. This is a two-person shop-floor team
: the technician hired for this role will work alongside one other technician
, with the shop manager managing the shop, handling service writing, estimates, and parts ordering.

Because the technician team is intentionally lean, this role requires someone with 6+ years of experience who can work independently, accurately diagnose vehicles, and take ownership of advanced repairs without relying on another technician to guide the job. The work includes diagnostics and complex repairs such as timing chains, cylinder head work, transmission replacements, turbo repairs, and alignments across domestic, Asian, European, and fleet vehicles.

TAS Auto Repair is focused on quality work, customer relationships, and building a strong reputation in the local automotive community. As the business grows and can support additional technicians, there is an opportunity for the team to expand and for the right technician to grow with the shop.

• Diagnose vehicle concerns accurately and complete repairs independently from initial diagnosis through final repair.
• Perform advanced automotive diagnostics using scan tools and other diagnostic equipment.
• Complete major mechanical repairs, including timing chain work, cylinder head repairs, transmission replacement, and turbocharger-related repairs.
• Perform wheel alignments using the shop's alignment equipment.
• Service and repair domestic, Asian, and European vehicles, as well as fleet vehicles; this position does not focus on diesel repair.
• Complete digital vehicle inspections and document vehicle findings using Tekmetric.
• Handle a workload focused primarily on diagnostic and repair work while also completing scheduled maintenance as needed.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and take ownership of completed repairs.

• 6+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Advanced diagnostic ability with demonstrated experience identifying vehicle concerns and determining the correct repair.
• Ability to perform complex mechanical repairs independently without day-to-day technical supervision.
• Experience using automotive scan tools and diagnostic equipment; the shop currently provides access to a Snap-on scanner.
• Must have a professional set of personal automotive tools appropriate for advanced repair work.
• Digital vehicle inspection experience is preferred; TAS Auto Repair uses Tekmetric.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small-team environment while continuing to learn new automotive technology and repair methods.

TAS Auto Repair operates as a small, relationship-based shop that values long-term customer relationships and involvement in the Smyrna-area community. The shop has an alignment rack, diagnostic equipment, and a workflow that gives an experienced technician significant independence and responsibility. The owners have plans to grow the business and see the potential for the technician joining this team to grow into a leadership or foreman-type role as the operation expands.
