Project Controls Specialist

The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and performance reporting for construction and engineering projects. This role ensures that projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements by providing accurate data, analysis, and recommendations to project teams, field supervisors, and management.

• Weekly updating of cost on projects using our Project Health Report (PHR).
• Weekly reporting of labor hours on projects for our field supervisor and project manager.
• Update change order log on our projects using the project manager’s change order logs weekly.
• Research variances caught through analysis on our project health report.
• Coordinate with accounting to close out purchase orders and subcontractor agreements.
• Cost tracking for project managers if requested on a project.
• Weekly reminders to obtain percent complete from field supervision and project managers.
• Set up new projects in the Project Health Report format once project set up has been completed by accounting.
• Run the monthly or bi‑monthly meeting with the project manager to review the Project Health Report.
• Close out the Project Health Report when the project ends.

• 2+ years in a project controls role for a construction or electrical contracting firm.
• Heavy knowledge of Excel, including macros, IF‑then statements, lookups, dashboard design, and reporting.
• Basic project management experience to coordinate between project managers and field supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business analysis, or construction management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with ERP software such as Oracle 11i or Viewpoint Spectrum.
• Basic accounting experience or procure‑to‑pay experience.

Must be able to work in Smyrna, GA. Pay Range: $26–$28.50/hr.
