Role Description

The Safety Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Smyrna, GA, responsible for overseeing and continuously improving safety practices across active job sites and facilities. This role includes developing, implementing, and updating safety policies and procedures, conducting regular site inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. The Safety Manager will lead safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and orientation programs, and will collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and trade partners to identify and mitigate risks.

Day-to-day responsibilities also involve investigating incidents and near-misses, maintaining accurate safety documentation and reports, coordinating corrective actions, and promoting a proactive safety culture within the organization.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Industrial Safety, with experience applying safety regulations in construction or mechanical contracting environments.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Safety Training and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including developing and delivering safety programs and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in Accident Investigation, including root-cause analysis, reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Candidates should possess the ability to conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and implement practical safety controls on active job sites.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree or certification in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or related field (e.g., CSP, CHST, OSHA certifications) are beneficial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach field teams and leadership on safety best practices.
  • Proven experience in a safety-focused role within construction, mechanical, or industrial settings, and proficiency with basic office and safety management software.
