REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Pshchological Services

FLSA: Exempt

PAY FREQUENCY: Monthly

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Conducts psycho educational evaluations for the purpose of assisting in special education eligibility determination

Requirements

Educational Level: Specialist Degree or equivalent degree hours

Certification/License

Required:

Service Certificate in School Psychology

Experience:

None; 2 years of experience in school psychology preferred

Physical

Activities:

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Written and oral communication; planning, organization, leadership

The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.

Essential Duties

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.

Demonstrates competency in administering a variety of assessment instruments and techniques.

Demonstrate understanding of criteria for all areas of eligibility.

Engages with school teams in problem-solving and making recommendations for interventions for students.

Writes comprehensive psycho educational reports that adhere to local guidelines.

Demonstrates appropriate consultative skills in parent, teacher, and student conferences.

Provides presentations/professional learning for local schools and other groups as needed.

Is knowledgeable about available resources in the school and community.

Participates in eligibility determination and program decisions for students with disabilities.

Participates in and contributes to professional learning opportunities, departmental meetings, and other activities provided by the department.

Practices in accordance with Federal, State and County regulations and professional ethics.

Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
