Job Description

The Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems (ATAS) Laboratory is seeking an Aerospace Student Assistant for the Fall 2026 semester to assist in hypersonic thermal protection system testing and acoustic fatigue testing. Experience with hypersonic test background and research issues is desired.

Required

Minimum Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering
  • Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours at your university
  • 3.5 or higher GPA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Matlab, Solidworks, and Labview
  • Familiarity with signal processing concepts
  • Experience in hypersonic research or class experience
  • Experience running an Inductively-Coupled Plasma jet for high temperature material testing
  • Ability to travel to and work at GTRI Cobb County Research Facility in Cobb County
Hours per Week

Up to 20 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
