Key Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation:

Design, implement, and maintain Check Point firewall and security infrastructure.

Develop and document security policies and procedures.

Plan and execute network security projects, including upgrades and migrations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment of security solutions.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

Troubleshoot and resolve network security issues.

Monitor and optimize firewall performance.

Maintain and update Check Point software and hardware.

Security Architecture:

Contribute to the development and implementation of security architectures.

Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats and technologies.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Other Duties:

Document procedures and configurations.

Participate in security audits and assessments.

Interface with vendors and third-party support teams.

Skills and Experience:



Technical Expertise:

Extensive experience with Check Point firewalls and security solutions.

Strong understanding of network security concepts and technologies.

Experience with other firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto) is a plus.

Knowledge of security protocols and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, VPN, SSL/TLS).

Ability to troubleshoot complex network security issues.

Certifications (Optional but Recommended):

Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) or equivalent.

Other relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH).

Assisting with Firewall Management:

Monitoring firewall performance and identifying issues.

Implementing firewall rule changes under supervision.

Troubleshooting firewall-related connectivity issues.

Performing regular firewall policy audits and reviews.

Supporting Network Security Operations:

Assisting with the configuration and deployment of Check Point security devices.

Contributing to incident response efforts related to firewall alerts and events.

Helping with maintenance tasks such as backups and patching.

Learning and Developing

Skills:

Gaining experience with Check Point's security technologies, including Smart Console, Security Gateway, and related features.

Developing a solid understanding of network security concepts and firewall policies.

Staying updated with the latest security trends and CheckPoint best practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

Creating and maintaining basic documentation for firewall configurations and procedures.

Assisting with the creation of reports on firewall activity and performance.

Secret Security Clearance

Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, routing, and switching.

Familiarity with firewalls and network security principles.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Good communication skills (written and verbal).

Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
