Full Charge Bookkeeper

Description

We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper on a part-time, contract basis in Smyrna, Georgia. This role is essential in maintaining the financial health of a non-profit organization, with responsibilities ranging from recordkeeping to compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities:

- Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

- Prepare and deliver detailed financial statements and reports on a regular basis.

- Reconcile bank accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.

- Process invoices, payments, and donations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

- Monitor budgets and perform variance analysis to support financial decision-making.

- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.

- Stay updated on accounting regulations and nonprofit financial reporting standards.

- Assist in preparing grant budgets and financial reports for funders.

- Handle credit and debit transactions within appropriate general ledger accounts.

- Process checks using Quick Books for payments related to grant accounts.

Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in full charge bookkeeping.

- Proficiency in Quick Books for managing financial processes.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures.

- Expertise in performing bank reconciliations accurately.

- Familiarity with nonprofit financial reporting and compliance.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to analyze budget data and provide actionable insights.

- Effective communication skills for collaborating with auditors and funders.

+ Non-Profit experience preferred
