Position
The role will be a Retail Personal Banker I, following a 4-8 week onboarding and education program including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. After completing the program and certification, selected candidates will continue to develop consultative sales skills, use the product portfolio and assist customers while fully covering teller and platform duties.
General FunctionA Financial Center role focused on identifying and meeting the financial needs of customers or prospects. The Person al Banker I maintains focus on acquiring new households and deepening existing customer relationships through lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. The role is responsible for processing teller transactions as well as working as a member of the platform staff. Risk is managed by following policies and procedures and ensuring a positive customer experience while maintaining the Bank's risk appetite.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.
- Primarily focus on cross‑selling to existing customers and engage in outside sales activities such as on‑site presentations, business sales calls and community financial literacy events.
- Establish close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial and Investment) and refer customers when appropriate.
- Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and individual/team production goals and enhance year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.
- Provide guidance to CSRs regarding the sales and referral process.
- Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.
- Answer customer questions, own customer issues and handle calls with confidence.
- Maintain confidentiality of all business and keep all data confidential.
- Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies.
- Adhere to established policies while opening and servicing the full range of Retail products.
- Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans from application through closing.
- Participate in the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed by the Manager.
- Stay current on Retail procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience in the financial industry.
- Ability to develop comfort with sales activities designed to acquire new customers and cross‑sell.
- Proficiency in advanced math to analyze credit and financial information.
- Professional appearance and effective communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures to make sound decisions.
- Required S.A.F.E. Act registration at hire through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
- Normal office environment.
- Extended computer screen time.
- Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
- Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
