Data Governance & Business Analyst

Our client in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Data Governance Business Analyst to support and scale their enterprise data governance program. This role will serve as the primary owner of the data catalog (Atlan), partnering closely with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure data is well-documented, governed, and easily accessible. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of data governance knowledge, business analysis skills, and the ability to translate complex data concepts into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders.

• Serve as the Atlan catalog owner and power user
  , configuring domains, tags, classifications, and workflows.
• Train and support business users to document and contribute metadata in Atlan.
• Manage Snowflake governance
  , including data tags, masking policies, and role-based access controls.
• Ensure Atlan accurately reflects governed, high-quality data in partnership with data engineering and data quality teams.
• Support and enforce data governance policies related to classification, sensitivity, lineage, and access control.
• Document data lineage, definitions, ownership, and PII metadata across the enterprise data warehouse.
• Drive Atlan adoption by translating governance concepts into clear, non-technical language.
• Partner with engineering, BI, and domain owners to ensure end-to-end data documentation

• Coordinate with implementation partners to launch initial Atlan domains and scale the model internally

• 3+ years experience in data governance, business analysis, analytics, or data management roles.
• Hands-on experience with or strong aptitude for data catalogs (Atlan preferred) and metadata management.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake
  , including data access controls, tagging, or governance concepts.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when documenting data assets and processes.
