General Purpose

Oversees the maintenance team and allocates resources (technicians, contractors, equipment, etc.) to ensure that all machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition. This role supports the maintenance mission by minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and ensuring a safe working environment. At the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the maintenance supervisor will plan, coordinate, and direct maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of maintenance technicians while carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recommendations of hiring and firing employees, planning, assigning and directing work, conducting employee performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
  • Proactively communicates with Manufacturing management status of un‑planned downtime events and projects as needed.
  • Actively evaluates the quality of work completed by his team and communicates results and recommendations for improvement.
  • Fosters a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Works with the Maintenance Leadership Team to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all manufacturing equipment and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Coordinates and executes maintenance activities (corrective, preventative and predictive), routine inspections, high quality corrective actions, and emergency troubleshooting.
  • Utilizing software tools such as CMMS, ERP, OFFICE, etc. maintains accurate records of maintenance activities including work orders, inspections, and equipment history.
  • Ensures all maintenance tasks comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Supports all LEAN activities in the operations area, especially the sustainable execution and implementation of 5S principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process improvement (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles to achieve highest quality standards.
  • Supports the implementation of a total productive maintenance (TPM) system.
  • Supports necessary information exchange with other areas of the organization including manufacturing, logistics, purchasing (supply chain), quality and assembly.
  • Promptly communicates equipment and personnel issues to the maintenance manager.
  • Supports the evaluations of technician’s abilities and suggests areas for training and development.
  • Promotes the bi‑directional technology transfer and knowledge sharing with other GLOCK units worldwide by collaborating and effectively communicating progress, issues, ideas, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with legal- and company ordinances in his/her areas of responsibility.
  • Ensures compliance to ISO‑, OSHA‑ and Environmental Protection regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Keeps his/her standard of knowledge up‑to‑date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measures.
