Job DescriptionGeorgia Tech Research Institute's Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) currently seeks a graduate student to join our Sensor Systems Engineering Division starting Fall 2026. The student will assist Research Engineers in various system engineering tasks. The student should be interested in learning about Digital Signal Processing design and simulation, and digital design and development, system engineering, electronic systems integration, and testing.
Job Duties- Digital signal processing design and simulation with MATLAB
- Digital system implementation with VHDL and FPGA hardware
- Testing and characterization of Digital, Analog, and RF components and systems
- Developing and executing automated test scripts in NI LabVIEW
- Analyzing measured test data
- Assembling and wiring custom modules and chassis
- Generating schematics and PCB layout
- Developing C/C++ code
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Must be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours)
- Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Commit to 13–20 hours of work per week
- Experience in 1 or more programming languages
- Task / team leadership experience
- Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
- Familiarity with Linux and open source tools
- Configuration management tools
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas

U.S. Citizenship RequirementsDue to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
Clearance Type RequiredCandidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
