Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler. The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

Eaton is seeking a Mechanical Assembler/ Switchboard Technician for its Switchboard Satellite Operation.

The Mechanical Assembler - Switchboard Technician is responsible for a wide range of skills including: wire, assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment. Perform assembly required for test preparation and final inspection. Use established power checking procedures and equipment to verify electrical/mechanical integrity of units assembled. Perform all assignments within acceptable quantity and perfect quality requirements in keeping within assigned functions.

  • Assemble wiring panels and sub-assemblies that mount in switchboards to customer specification based on electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions with the use of hand and power tools.
  • Use various tools, such as wire strippers and plyers to perform the electrical wiring assembly of switchboards and sub-assemblies.
  • Inspect and test finished products to maintain quality standards and ensure conformance with specifications and codes.
  • Be responsible for understanding power flow and referencing guidelines in order to comply with regulations when wiring switchboards or panel boards.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.
  • Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
  • Maintain expected progress of jobs in the area of assignment and communicate problem areas or part shortages.
  • Cross-train and flex across functions based on development and business needs.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year of experience in an assembly related role with the use of hand and/or power tools (experience in automotive repairs, construction, carpentry, or other assembly type environments will be considered) or completion of a one-year Technical School diploma from an accredited institution.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on experience with low-voltage and control-voltage wiring, including point-to-point wiring, panel wiring, and control circuits.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated comprehension of wiring diagrams, schematics, and power flow.
  • Ability to read and comprehend front views, one-line diagrams, and bills of material.
  • Experience with wiring diagrams, schematics, and power flow to install correct wires.
  • Experience with measuring tools, torque tolerance, and hardware assembly.
