Job Summary
The RN O.R. Circulator is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high‑quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and supported through the Well Star Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the Well Star Professional Practice Model, 5‑Star Nursing, and evidence‑based practice and research.
All RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures, supporting service excellence goals.

Day (United States of America), Full‑time RN Circulator, 7a‑3p. Sign‑On Bonus Eligible.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Perform the Nursing Process—assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking to deliver individualized care.
- Provide relationship‑based patient‑centered care that reflects cultural diversity and is adapted to patient and family needs.
- Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods such as bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and timely patient teaching.
- Practice using current clinical practice standards.
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, completing timely documentation and promoting a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration, acting fiscally responsibly and supporting the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participate and support performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all system levels.
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, or students to build a qualified workforce.
- Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement; participate in activities such as value analysis for decision‑making regarding patient care products.
- Uphold all health‑care system policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, including legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in data collection and pose relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence‑based practice, consulting appropriate experts and using available evidence to address practice questions.
- Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum while providing direct patient care.
- Participate in the development of protocols and procedures, collaborating with care managers and other team members to achieve best practice outcomes.
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all Well Star Health System policies and standards of work.
Minimum Education
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred).
- RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT (Multi‑State Compact).
- BLS – Basic Life Support, ARC‑BLS (American Red Cross Basic Life Support), or BLS‑I (Basic Life Support Instructor).
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Required Minimum ExperienceExperience circulating in the O.R. is required, with a minimum of 1–2 years of direct patient care experience.
Required Minimum Skills- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to optimize technology to support clinical care and basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills.
- Capacity to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Practice nursing with evidence, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
