Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse will work part‑time on the night shift, covering a 24‑hour week at a 28‑bed Acute Care Med‑Surg unit with telemetry. The focus is on cardiac, renal, and wound care. A sign‑on bonus is available.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
- A. Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and critical thinking.
- B. Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care adapted to population‑specific characteristics and cultural diversity.
- C. Partner with patients and families through bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, timely teaching, and keeping patient goals central.
- D. Practice using current clinical practice standards.
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- A. Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care and promote a respectful, inclusive environment.
- B. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and support recruitment and retention of all team members.
- C. Participate in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance.
- Professional Development and Initiative
- A. Complete all required competency assessments and ongoing education.
- B. Serve as preceptor or mentor for nurses and other staff or students.
- Evidence‑Based Practice and Research
- A. Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
- B. Uphold all policies, procedures, legal, regulatory and accreditation standards, including TJC Patient Safety Goals.
- C. Participate in data collection, pose clinical questions, and consult experts.
- Resources and Support
- A. Proactively plan patient care across the continuum during direct patient care.
- B. Develop protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers.
- C. Support efficient use of human and material resources.
- D. Perform other duties as assigned.
- E. Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Minimum Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma (RN)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
- RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT (Multi‑state Compact)
- BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support Instructor
- Minimum 5 years as an RN
- Direct patient care experience (preferred)
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Optimize technology to support clinical care and possess basic computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with customer‑service focus.
- Adapt to fast‑paced environments and respond to emergencies with decisiveness and composure.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Apply evidence and analytical skills in nursing practice and possess critical thinking abilities.
