Job Summary

The RN Oncology Infusion Therapy Clinician functions under the direction of the Manager Infusion Therapy or other designated leader. The RN demonstrates knowledge, competency, and clinical expertise in oncology infusion therapy including hazardous drug therapies for malignant and nonmalignant conditions. The RN will administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antineoplastics agents, hazardous drugs, and targeted therapies, primarily at an outpatient infusion center. The RN provides safe patient care, addresses the emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients, and serves as a clinical resource to nursing staff, operational leadership, and medical staff.

The RN upholds the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association’s scope of practice and code of ethics. Responsibilities include attending staff meetings, in‑services, special projects, and continuing education, as well as potential preceptor duties for newly hired RN colleagues. Local travel required; floating staff will be required between Cobb Hospital HODs based on need; all sites are within 35 miles of Cobb Hospital.

    • Completes ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education.
    • Serves as preceptor or mentor for other nurses, staff, or students.
    • Engages in continuing education, maintains oncology certification or 12 CE credits annually.
  • Evidence‑Based Practice and Research
    • Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
    • Upholds all health care system policies, legal and accreditation requirements.
    • Participates in data collection, addresses clinical questions through resources and experts.
  • Resources and Support
    • Plans care across the continuum and participates in protocol development.
    • Supports efficient use of human and material resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all Wellstar Health System policies.
Required

Minimum Education
  • Associate’s Nursing or Diploma (Nurse)
  • Bachelor’s Nursing (Preferred)
