About the RoleAESC is seeking a Senior Accounts Receivable Accountant to manage incoming payments, ensure accurate financial records and support cash flow by overseeing invoicing, collections, and account reconciliation.
What You Will DoThe ideal candidate will have:
- Accounting Knowledge:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP - Technical Proficiency:
Skilled in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and modern AR automation tools - Analytical and Numerical
Skills:
Ability to reconcile accounts, identify discrepancies, and analyze financial data accurately - Communication and Interpersonal
Skills:
Effective interaction with clients, internal teams, and other departments such as sales and customer service - Organizational and Time Management:
Capable of managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining detailed records - Problem‑Solving:
Ability to make informed decisions and resolve complex AR issues efficiently
Invoice Management and Billing: Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountants generate and distribute invoices accurately and on time, review customer agreements, manage recurring billing schedules, and ensure proper documentation to facilitate prompt payment.
Payment Processing and Reconciliation: They record and reconcile payments from various channels, including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards. Discrepancies between payments and invoices are identified and resolved to maintain accurate financial records.
Collections and Customer Relations: AR Accountants implement collection strategies, monitor aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts, negotiate payment plans, and elevate unresolved issues when necessary. They maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring timely payments.
Reporting and Compliance: AR Accountants prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on receivables, collection rates, and aging trends. They ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and relevant financial regulations, supporting audits and management decision‑making.
What You NeedBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Related Field.
More than 5 years’ experience in Finance/Accounting with preference to Accounts Receivable.
Strong experience in:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- ERP Software including SAP
Occasional domestic travel may be desired.
