General Function

Provides leadership and oversight for the effective integration of instructional technologies that support teaching, learning, and student success across the institution. Collaborates with faculty, academic administrators, and technology staff to support the design and delivery of high‑quality face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online instruction. Oversees the learning management system, instructional design support, synchronous learning technologies, and the college’s participation in TN eCampus. Leads faculty and development in instructional technology and accessibility, ensures the quality of online learning environments and assets, and serves as the institutional lead for campus wide digital and/or physical accessibility initiatives to promote inclusive and compliant instructional practices consistent with expectations of the Tennessee Board of Regents and state and/or federal laws and mandates.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree earned from a regionally accredited institution in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Higher Education, Information Technology, or a related field and at least three years post‑secondary teaching experience that includes experience in designing and delivering instructional material, knowledge of the use of emerging and mobile technologies, online/hybrid instructional environments, accessibility standards and practices and learning management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree earned from a regionally accredited institution in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Higher Education, Information Technology, at least three years post‑secondary teaching experience as listed in the MQ and at least three years of experience that includes supporting or managing online learning programs or distance education initiatives, digital accessibility, managing ADA compliance, section 508 guidelines, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), synchronous learning technologies, and interactive video systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for academic technology initiatives that support teaching and learning across all campuses.
  • Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to design, develop, and improve online and hybrid courses and programs using effective instructional design models and technologies.
  • Chairs the Motlow State Accessibility Committee and serves as the institutional lead and liaison to T  for digital accessibility, overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Motlow College Accessibility Plan.
  • Leads and coordinates college wide digital accessibility efforts to ensure online courses, instructional materials, campus technologies and physical resources support inclusive learning environments and comply with ADA, Section 508, WCAG 2.1 AA, and emerging DOJ and T  requirements.
  • Provides training, consultation, and documentation support to faculty and staff; reviews accessibility documentation for technology and software acquisitions (including VPATs, remediation and conformance forms and other required documentation); and maintains current knowledge of accessibility regulations, emerging educational technologies, and related T  initiatives through continuous professional engagement.
