AESC is looking to add an Engineer, Facilities to our team in Smyrna, TN.

Location: On-site in Smyrna, TN

What You Will Do- Preventative Maintenance & Repairs:
Coordinate and follow up on preventative maintenance schedules for refrigeration units, plumbing, electrical systems, overhead doors, and other mechanical systems. Assist in and oversee basic repairs for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems as needed. - Project Coordination:
Read blueprints, plan projects, and manage incidental carpentry, masonry, painting, and plaster work to ensure tasks are completed effectively and efficiently. Provide specification, design, and installation support for manufacturing and facility operations. - Documentation & Compliance:
Review and maintain detailed maintenance logs and budgets, ensuring accurate and timely documentation for all tasks. Ensure all equipment, facility systems, and utilities are in proper state of operation and repair. - Safety & Standards:
Develop and implement safety procedures for all equipment in assigned areas. Maintain compliance with 5S, IATF
16949, VDA 6.3, and ISO
14001 standards, proactively identifying and addressing safety concerns to prevent accidents. - Mentorship & Coordination:
Assist other maintenance team members with technical guidance during major breakdown recoveries and investigations. Assist in the RFP process and lead contractors from project inception through commissioning of new equipment. Complete other duties as assigned.
- Educational Background: A four-year degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Engineering Technology is required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: At least 5 years of comprehensive experience in a technical capacity supporting an industrial manufacturing environment with complex automated equipment.
- Skills &
Competencies:
Strong understanding of facilities engineering, root cause analysis, problem-solving techniques, and process control management for resolving quality and throughput issues. Above-average troubleshooting and computer skills; ability to work independently. Proficient in data-driven decision-making, project planning, and communication. - Travel: Occasional travel may be required to oversee offsite projects or support new facility developments.
- Standards: Understands and follows IATF
16949, VDA 6.3, ISO
12001, and ISO
14001 standards (training provided as needed).
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in a high-volume manufacturing facility, especially automotive OEM or Tier 1 suppliers. Experience with new model launches, equipment design, installation, and commissioning. Knowledge of new plant design, construction, and commissioning processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and related applications; ability to develop specialized technical solutions.
- Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Automated manufacturing plant with concrete floors, temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. Perform essential duties on the plant floor and in meetings with staff, management, customers, and suppliers.
