Launch Your Career, Drive Innovation We are currently looking for a Production Engineering Co-op to join our team in Smyrna, TN.
Job Description Support Production Engineers in developing and optimizing assembly sequences and operator work instructions during production trials by conducting process audits and implementing documentation updates as needed. Assist in the creation, validation, and maintenance of Quality Assurance documentation related to fastening torque specifications and electrical connections. Support the validation and upkeep of Process Control Charts and Product Quality Assurance Charts to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
Collect, analyze, and track critical measurement point data to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with New Model, Current Model, and Equipment Engineers to implement production aids and equipment that enhance manufacturing safety, quality, and ergonomics, including creating technical drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor. Assist in aligning Bills of Material (BOM) with operator work instructions to ensure production accuracy and efficiency.
Support part and process change management activities during production trials, model launches, and ongoing manufacturing operations. Participate in Virtual Reality (VR) CAD studies to evaluate manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and ergonomic considerations. Assist with 3D modeling, prototyping, and the creation of 3D-printed components to support engineering and manufacturing projects.
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Academic standing of Sophomore level or higher.
- GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
- Ability to perform work onsite at the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant.
