Storeroom Attendant - Integrated Supply

Location:

Smyrna, Tennessee

Pay Rate: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour

Position Overview

Our client, a supply chain and distribution organization, is seeking a Storeroom Attendant for an onsite contract engagement in Smyrna, Tennessee, running approximately six months. The role supports an integrated supply operation based within a customer manufacturing facility. Integrated supply places you on the customer's site as the person responsible for their maintenance and operating materials. The position suits someone organized, reliable, and service-oriented who takes satisfaction in a well-ordered storeroom and a maintenance team that never waits on parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will receive incoming shipments, verify quantities and part numbers against purchase orders and packing documentation, note damage or discrepancy, and record receipts accurately in the inventory system before storing items in their designated locations.
  • You will issue parts, tools, and consumables to maintenance and production staff, verify the correct item against each request, and record issue transactions against the appropriate work order or cost center so that consumption data stays accurate.
  • You will maintain inventory integrity through scheduled cycle counts, investigate and resolve variances, monitor stock levels against established minimums and maximums, and raise replenishment and expedite requests to prevent stockouts on critical spares.
  • You will keep the storeroom clean, organized, and clearly labeled, manage obsolete or excess inventory, deliver responsive service to the customer's onsite teams, operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely, and follow all site safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • You will support the customer's maintenance planning function by confirming parts availability, staging materials in advance of scheduled work, and identifying long-lead items before they become a constraint. You will also manage supplier communication on order status, expedites, and returns, and contribute to service level and inventory accuracy reporting that underpins the customer relationship.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with prior warehouse, storeroom, inventory, or parts counter experience.
  • You must have consistent attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping habits, and basic computer literacy sufficient for inventory transactions, data entry, and spreadsheet use. Professional communication with onsite customer personnel is important in this model.
  • The role requires standing and walking throughout the shift, lifting up to fifty pounds, and working in an industrial environment. Reliable onsite attendance in Smyrna, Tennessee for the assigned shift is required for the duration of the engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior integrated supply or industrial MRO storeroom experience is strongly preferred, along with familiarity with common maintenance parts such as bearings, fasteners, filters, and electrical components.
  • Forklift certification, experience with ERP or CMMS platforms such as SAP or Maximo, and any exposure to purchasing, expediting, or vendor-managed inventory practice are all advantageous.
  • Experience supporting maintenance teams directly is valued, including identifying parts from manuals and equipment drawings. Familiarity with vending or point-of-use dispensing systems, barcode-driven inventory platforms, and any participation in cost reduction or parts standardization work are all advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

This engagement pays an hourly rate in the range of $14.00 to $16.00, based on experience, across a contract of approximately six months with a defined end date.

You will join an established integrated supply team embedded in a manufacturing operation, gaining inventory management and customer service experience in a setting with genuine day-to-day variety. The longer engagement period offers stability, and extension or conversion may be possible depending on performance and continued need.
