The non‑union Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the facility. This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure all areas meet established standards of hygiene and appearance. The janitor will work independently or as part of a team to complete daily cleaning schedules, respond to urgent cleaning needs, and support facility operations.

Attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety protocols are essential to prevent hazards and promote a positive experience for all building occupants. Ultimately, the janitor contributes to the overall functionality and professionalism of the workplace by ensuring that all spaces are orderly and well‑maintained.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies and their safe use.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Experience working in a commercial or institutional cleaning environment.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
• Ability to operate floor cleaning machines and other specialized equipment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively report issues and coordinate with team members.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal across all assigned areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas to maintain high standards of hygiene.
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper in restrooms and other designated locations.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, following manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for special events or meetings as needed.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.

The janitor uses their knowledge of cleaning techniques and chemical handling daily to ensure all areas are hygienic and safe. Physical stamina and manual dexterity are essential for performing repetitive tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and lifting. Attention to detail helps identify areas that require extra care or immediate attention, contributing to overall facility upkeep. Communication skills are important for reporting maintenance needs and collaborating with supervisors or other staff members.

Additionally, the ability to follow safety protocols protects both the janitor and building occupants, ensuring a secure working environment.

This position is from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Friday–Sunday.
It also runs from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday–Sunday.
