Description:
Number of Beds: 9 Labor & Delivery, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and 3 bed OBED.Patient Ratios: 1-2.Unit staffing includes unit secretaries, scrub techs, dedicated CRNA, and midwife in-house 24/7, with Client on call.
Type of equipment includes CPN and Meditech for documentation.
Scheduling requires 4 weekend shifts per month.
Floating policy allows for floating to mother/baby or outside department to assist with tasks.
Patient Experience requires maintaining a satisfaction rate above 75%.Procedures performed on the unit include circulating in the OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4, management of postpartum hemorrhage, nitrous oxide use.
Dress code requires hot pink and black uniforms, with a preference for hot pink on top.
Unique features include a laborist team model with 24/7 midwives, dedicated CRNA, and OB on call.
Personalized birth experiences are prioritized to meet patients' desires and needs.
Couplet care is provided in the postpartum unit to ensure the newborn stays bedside, promoting breastfeeding and including donor milk availability when needed.
An 8-bed level 2 NICU with NNP is dedicated to the unit 24/7, with an NNP available for high‑risk deliveries.
