The Building Maintenance Tech will be responsible for performing various maintenance functions as necessary to maintain and enhance the value of company assets.
Schedule:Monday - Friday
Shift: 1st 7:00am - 3:00pm Hourly Range: $28.08 - $32.14
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assures compliance to all required industry standards and government requirements as stated in the Ideal-Tridon Quality Manual, Quality Management System, process documentation, and all Company Human Resources, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines.
- Responsible for shutting down machine operations when quality, safety, or environmental issues arise. The Facilities Tech will notify the supervisor, lead, or other appropriate manager.
- When operating a forklift, has the responsibility and authority to remove the equipment from service in accordance with EHS-20-0042. Notification will be made to the Maintenance personnel.
- Maintains and protects all company, supplier, and customer proprietary and confidential information.
- Performs assigned maintenance activities to ensure Ideal-Tridon Smyrna facilities are operating to meet quality requirements.
- Maintains their workspace clean in an orderly manner.
- Completes Labor Tickets with the knowledge and understanding of materials contained in the Document Center.
- Identifies and removes slip, trip, and fall hazards.
- Responsible for plumbing, painting, and drywall installation and/or removal.
- Set up cubicles and assist with equipment moves.
- Responsible for minor dock door and leveler repairs. (Door adjustments, Cable replacement, Light electrical).
- Responsible for minor HVAC repairs. (Belt changes and keeping drains unclogged).
- Ensures compliance with the Quality Management System and the Environmental Management System.
- Responsible for working with and maintaining relationships with outside contractors such as HVAC, Plumbers, Roofing, Dock service, and Lawn Care providers.
- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
- Works well independently and with others.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
- Basic problem-solving skills. Must possess the ability to work independently and in a safe manner.
- Basic to advanced carpentry skills. Ability to assemble/build or modify office furniture, shelving, racking and equipment. Paint experience. Drywall repairs, acoustic ceiling tile replacement and installation.
- Plumbing skills. Must be able to clear clogged drains, re-route water lines, make repairs to toilets, sinks and urinals.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills. Needs to be able to replace and repair light fixtures, replace switches, read a voltage meter and troubleshoot minor electrical issues.
- Basic knowledge of fire suppression systems, compressed air, HVAC and exhaust fans in order to complete PM’s assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience and education is required.
- Previous experience in related field is preferred.
- Not scared of heights such as working from a flat roof, ladders and mobile elevated working platforms. Must be able to pass a test to operate a forklift and boom lift.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
- May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment.
- Must be able to lift 80 pounds at a time.
- Able to operate a forklift and similar machinery.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach clean, and service machinery.
