Job Description

Fixx Energy LLC is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Smyrna, TN. The Technician will maintain the daily uptime of the physical plant, balancing scheduled preventative maintenance with reactive repairs to keep equipment running safely and efficiently in a high-voltage environment.

Position Details: Full‑Time, Night Shift, On‑Site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on facility equipment including oil changes, filter replacements, and belt tensioning for air handlers, compressors, and pumps.
  • Conduct daily monitoring of dry‑room conditions, ensuring dew point and relative humidity are within manufacturing tolerances.
  • Maintain ISO 14001 and OSHA compliance, manage hazardous waste disposal, and verify chemical storage meets fire and environmental codes.
  • Replace electrical components such as ballasts, switches, and outlets; assist with 480V motor replacements and troubleshooting.
  • Repair leaks in compressed air and water piping; support installation of new utility drops for production equipment.
  • Handle general building tasks, including minor carpentry, painting, and flooring repairs within cleanroom environments.
  • Monitor chemical drum levels and swap containers following safety and PPE protocols.
  • Serve as the primary responder to facility emergencies, including power outages, gas leaks, or fire suppression system triggers.
  • Use CMMS to track work orders, spare‑part inventory, and equipment history.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on HVAC, chillers, air compressors, and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Maintain specialized ultra‑low dew‑point dry rooms, ensuring airtight seals and desiccant performance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic failures in utility systems such as steam boilers, cooling towers, and vacuum pumps.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
    Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience with HVAC, compressed air, and chilled water systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting 480V 3‑phase electrical systems and interpreting schematics.
  • Experience with industrial refrigeration and humidity‑controlled environments.
  • Knowledge of process piping for deionized water, compressed air, and chemical delivery.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs and Building Management Systems.
  • Ability to follow detailed SOPs and work safely in hazardous battery manufacturing environments.
  • Read and interpret electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural drawings.
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to use maintenance software.
  • Knowledge of IATF‑16949, VDA 6.3, and ISO 14001 standards.
Physical Requirements & Environment
  • Wear full‑body specialized PPE when entering controlled manufacturing areas.
  • Lift up to 50 lb., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Work rotating shifts, including nights or weekends, for 24/7 operations.
  • Operate in loud machinery, high‑voltage areas, and temperature‑controlled environments.
Nice to Have
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or structural maintenance.
  • Licensed electrician or journeyman candidate.
  • Knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC programming.
