Job Description

Our transfer drivers usually drive the following schedule listed below. Hours and days may change due to business needs.

  • Sunday Day/Night - Shift either starting on Sunday at Noon or Sunday at 9pm 12hr shift.
  • Tuesday Night - 9pm - 9am
  • Wednesday Night - 9pm - 9am
  • Thursday Night - 9pm - 9am
Position Summary

Delivery Drivers assist the company in delivering our food product services from the distribution center to our clients via dedicated routes. Responsible for driving delivery trucks to ensure that recipients receive their delivery in a safe and timely manner, loading and unloading of the products and collecting payment when necessary. This position needs to provide outstanding professional and customer service when communicating and interacting not only with our team, but with our customers and clients.

Basic

Minimum Requirements:
  • Valid CDL-A License
  • Valid Medical Card
  • 3 year driving experience
  • Lift 70lbs regularly throughout the day
  • Be able to use electric pallet jack or manual pallet jack
  • Be able to use hand carts to deliver items inside to customers. May be required to go up and down steps to deliver items
  • Be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Good customer service skills, Bilingual preferred but not essential
  • Able to use phone/tablet to communicate with different departments
  • Shift length may vary and be prolonged
  • Be available to run overnight routes
Organizational Responsibilities:

Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).

Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, warehouse, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).

Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve the site's efficiency, profitability, and productivity.

Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, logistics tools, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training programs and by accessing other sources of information and apply knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.

Work Hours (may vary by state or location):

Hours of operation vary by site and shift. Must be available to work on weekends and overnight when scheduled and must be able to perform the essential job functions unaccompanied.

Education/

Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a CDL-A driver.

Language Ability:

Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to comprehend and complete legal documents, and answer questions in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Math Ability:

Demonstrated mathematical skills necessary to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers, decimals, and fractions, and calculate percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer/ Technology

Skills:

Demonstrated the ability to use electronic logbook, "e-log" or any other related ELD logbook applications approved by the FMCSA. Knowledge of basic technology and delivery applications/ software. Proficiency and fluency in using the internet and navigating the internet and websites.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • A valid and unexpired CDL class A driver's license always.
  • A valid/ unexpired medical certificate/card always.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
