position description:under the direction of the transit crew chief or transit manager, the transit driver i transports citizens on fixed or customized routes, ensuring safe and courteous service. This entry-level position focuses on daily driving, assisting passengers, and maintaining vehicle standards.

- operates transportation vehicles safely, following established routes and schedules.
- assist passengers, including those with special needs, on and off vehicles.
- performs pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections; reports any issues.
- maintains cleanliness and sanitation of assigned vehicles.
- provides excellent customer service and responds to routine passenger inquiries.
- completes daily logs and basic reports of transportation activities.
- follows all city, state, and federal transit regulations.
- performs related duties as assigned.
- high school diploma or ged required
- 2 years’ experience in public transportation or related work
- class c cdl with passenger and air brake endorsement (no cdl restrictions)
- customer service skills
- basic first aid and cpr training within 6 months

- duties are performed while driving on established routes throughout the city and surrounding areas.
- ability to sit comfortably for extended periods of time.
- ability to drive safely and independently.
- clarity of vision.
- lift and carry general supplies and equipment for the daily maintenance of fleet vehicles.
