Overview
Its Time to Get Better! Piedmont Eastside Medical is a 310-bed multi-campus facility, serving Gwinnett and surrounding counties. The Family Care Center provides couplet care and makes a difference in every life they touch. This 17‑bed unit focuses on post‑partum care, monitoring, and education.
Education and SupportThe unit offers lactation consult support, educating mothers on breastfeeding techniques, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
StaffingStaffed with RNs, charge nurses, and PCTs to create a very compassionate and collaborative team.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during the shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as a resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.
Education- Graduate from a nursing program – Required
- Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
- 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting – Required
- 2 years or more of nursing experience in a hospital setting – Preferred
- RN – Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure – Required
- BCLS – Basic Life Support – Required
- NRP by the end of orientation period (Women’s Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) – Required
